Good Shepherd Preschool, the only Catholic Preschool in Huntsville,
is a half-day preschool for 3 and 4 year old children. Our hours are 9AM-12PM,
with an optional Stayday on Tuesday and Wednesday 12PM - 1PM. |
|
|
|
|
|
GSP follows the Huntsville City Schools calendar except for opening and closing dates.
Any time the Huntsville City Schools are closed we are closed.
If city schools open one hour late we will open at 10:00. |

OUR CURRICULUM

|
Sharing God's Story is a Catholic preschool religion series that was developed to stimulate imagination and creativity in children while exploring Bible stories. The children pray daily, and the blessing is said each day before snack.
Snacks are provided daily and are often themed to go with the day's lesson. All activities are designed to be at the child's age level and are theme-based.
Other activities include movement class (where the children work on important large motor skills) and music (where the kids work on singing, listening, and their developing sense of rhythm).
Three-year-old rooms emphasize developing social skills and introduce basic concepts such as colors and numbers. Threes have a maximum of 9 students per room.
Four-year-old classes reinforce previously introduced skills and add beginning sounds to concepts covered. Fours have a maximum of 11 students per room. |

Qualified and experienced teachers have been hired in order to provide a quality preschool experience. All of our teachers are Catholic, and have a degree in Education and/or have experience teaching preschool. Each teacher truly enjoys teaching and has your child's best interest at heart.

Good Shepherd Preschool follows the state of Alabama guidelines for ages. Children must be 3 or 4 by September 1st to enroll. All children must be toilet-trained to attend preschool.

Registration for GSP begins the end of January for students currently enrolled in the Good Shepherd's Preschool or Mothers' Morning out programs (and their siblings), and for parishioners of Good Shepherd and Holy Spirit Churches. Enrollment is opened to the community the second week of February.
A $60 non-refundable registration fee is due at enrollment.
