Religious Education for Children and Youth
 
   
Preschool Religious Education -for children 3 years old by Sept. 1st. Classes meet Sundays during the 8:30 and 11:00 Mass times. Through the structure of their class, children learn the pattern of the Mass --gathering, singing, praying together and hearing Sunday’s scripture stories. The scripture comes alive for children through music, crafts, activities and their weekly publication "Seeds" from Pflaum Publications (www.pflaum.com).

Elementary and Middle School –Religion classes are available for kindergarten through 8th grade on Sundays or Wednesdays. The textbook used for these grades is “Christ our Life”, published by Loyola Press ( www.loyolapress.com).

High School – grades 9-12 meet Sunday evenings during the school year. Their text book is published by C.R. Publications. Catechesis is done in coordination with parish youth ministry programming. Registration for high school includes a “refreshment fee”

Registration -- Class sizes are limited; classes are filled on a “first come” basis. download a form at this site. Forms are also available at church.

Sacraments:

Baptism- Parents of school age children seeking baptism for their child should contact the Religious Education office to schedule preparation.

Reconciliation (Penance) and First Communion - preparation is typically done during the second grade year, after having completed a foundational first grade year.

Confirmation - preparation is done during the ninth grade year, after completing a foundational year during the eighth grade.


Attendance: Regular attendance each year is very important to students and teachers. Please help us!

Parochial School & Home School Parents - Please do complete a registration form. There is no registration fee. The Office of Religious Education is available for resource and support.

Vacation Bible Surprise (school) each summer we enjoy a themed week of extra fun Bible study for children of all ages. Watch each spring for registration forms.

Program Needs: We are blessed with many dedicated and skilled teachers who are committed to their ministry. Please consider helping them this coming year. Support and training is provided -or you could be a co-teacher with an experienced teacher, or a teacher’s aid. Please consider your gifts and choose a way to actively participate in next year’s program.
