Education
Through a variety of adult
programs offered in our parish, we have the opportunity to continue our
spiritual growth and faith development. +
Rite of Christian
Initiation for Adults (RCIA) -
Series of classes for those who want to learn about Catholicism, are considering becoming members of the
Catholic Church, or for active Catholics who want to update their knowledge. +
Re-Membering - Annual program for inactive Catholics, which helps
with the transition toward returning and becoming active in the Catholic
Church. + Adult Confirmation
Class - Sessions offered to those
adults who have received the Sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation and
Eucharistic and desire to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. + Bible Study Programs - Weekly
programs provided for interested groups during the day or evening. + Women’s Faith Sharing Group - Meets
weekly, when school is in session, to support one another in their faith
journey. The varied sessions consist of
book discussion, Bible study, videotapes, and day trips to spiritual locations
of interest, guest speakers and prayer.
+ Wednesday Evening Adult Program - Following
Mass and dinner these programs have included, book studies, videotapes, guest
speakers and topical discussions. + Prayer Groups – Centering Prayer,
Rosary, and Saturday Prayer Group (which prays scriptures in a contemporary
way). Monthly First Friday Adoration and Holy Saturday scheduled. + Sunday between the Masses - Adults meet to continue their spiritual development
through book studies, Bible study, topical discussions and prayer. + Shepherd’s
Walk Retreat – Developed here at
Good Shepherd for members of the Parish, led by members of the Parish. The primary objective is to provide a method
to grow closer to the Good Shepherd through faith sharing and personal
encounters with Christ. Other Enrichment
Opportunities + Parish
Missions, special summer programs, guest speakers, and parish library which
contains quality books, videos and audio tapes on prayer, scripture, etc.
