Behavior & Discipline

We hope to have all the children so involved with growing and learning activities that the need for discipline is kept to a minimum. Discipline approaches include removing the child from the situation. Explaining that the behavior is unacceptable (“Blocks are for building not for throwing”), and the use of “time out” so the child can regain control of his/her behavior. You will always be notified if a time out is given. When necessary, parents will be asked to participate in decisions regarding their child’s behavior. Physical punishment and verbal abuse will not be used.

Communication

Communication between school and home is very important. You will keep up to date through daily notes if necessary, weekly progress reports and monthly news letters and emails. Please let us know of any changes outside of school affecting your child. If you have any concerns regarding our program, Please call the MMO office or email us.

We will be taking lots of pictures throughout the school year, so your child may be photographed at different times. If this is not agreeable with you, please let the director know as soon as possible.
