Tithe Report 2018



 The Good Shepherd Parish Tithe Committee requests your input in the selection of recipients for 2019.  The following is a list of charities that received funding from Good Shepherd in 2018. 

  1. 305 8th Place….Provides care for mentally challenged adults
  2. Catholic Center of Concern…..Counseling & outreach to needy
  3. Choose Life/Save-A-Life…..Abortion alternatives support and counseling
  4. Community Free Dental Clinic…..Provides dental care to needy
  5. Davidson Farm….Home for foster teen girls
  6. Diocese of Birmingham….Special collections for special needs
  7. First Stop…..Provides assistance to the homeless in Huntsville
  8. Good Shepherd Back Pack…..Provides food for local youth
  9. Good Shepherd Food Pantry…..Provides food for needy
  10. 10. Good Shepherd World Mission….Provides funding for Anapra, Mexico
  11. HABITAT for Humanity…..Builds homes for needy working families
  12. Hope Place….Domestic violence shelter
  13. 13. Huntsville Assistance Program….Assists with utilities and rent for needy
  14. Huntsville Utilities Project SHARE…..Pays utility bills for poor elderly & disabled
  15. IMS FoodLine…..Provides for FoodLine expenses
  16. Meals on Wheels …..Provides food for elderly homebound
  17. Pastor’s Discretionary Fund…..Emergency funding for needy parishioners/passers-by
  18. Rose of Sharon Soup Kitchen…..Provides daily meals for homeless & needy
  19. Sacred Heart Convent (Cullman)…..Provides support for nuns/convent upkeep
  20. Saint Bernard’s Monastery (Cullman)…..Provides medical support for monks/campus upkeep
  21. St. Vincent DePaul Society…..Catholic organizations which provides aid to needy
  22. School of Joy (Bethlehem)….Provides funding for insurance, maintenance and equipment
  23. Sister Kathleen Navarra….Utilities, medicine, food for South Alabama

 Please feel free to call or e-mail any of the Tithe Committee members with your comments, suggestions or questions.  Suggestions for charities other than those listed above that you would like Good Shepherd to support are welcome.  Please submit your comments by December 17.  Please note that highest priority will be focused on basic human needs such as food, clothing and shelter for those less fortunate in our community.  E-mail addresses and phone numbers of the committee members are as follows:
